“Final Rise” is the champion of ‘Samsung eSports Championship 2019’

The Closing Gala Ceremony of the prestigious ‘Samsung eSports Championship 2019’ by Samsung Consumer Electronic Bangladesh took place in the auditorium of Independent University Bangladesh on March 24, 2019. This inter-university competition, which started on March 6, 2019 had 48 teams from 6 universities competing for the Grand Title. “Final Rise” of IUB won the Grand Championship title.

The competition was open for all students from the respective universities and their teams were able to participate and spectate. The best team from each university had qualified for the inter-university battle. The Closing Gala Ceremony was a face-off between 6 best teams from 6 universities and only one team was crowned as the first ever Grand Champions of ‘Samsung eSports Championship’. All teams played games in Samsung Super Ultra-Gaming Monitor in this tournament.

The 6 best teams are Brac’s No Practice, EWU’s Demigods, AIUB’s Team Tsunami, NSU’s Illicit Gaming, ULAB’s KTR 2 and IUB’s Final Rise. The team who won the title of the Grand Championship is Final Rise from IUB and ULAB’s KTR 2 is the runner-up team. All the best teams and winners had received exclusive gifts from Samsung. Champion team (5 members) got 27’’ gaming monitor each, Runner UP team (5 members) got 24’’ gaming monitor each and Rest 20 players from 4 teams got 18.5’’ gaming monitor each from Samsung Electronics Bangladesh.

eSports has become one of the largest industries globally, attracting all the major mainstream media and channels. Bangladesh has a relatively small but fast-growing eSports presence. Competitions like these are imperative to the growth of the industry. With the patronization of a brand like Samsung, the best gamers of the competition will find synergy among them, build professional networks, and participate in the global eSports scene from Bangladesh.

Regarding the competition, Shahriar Bin Lutfor, Head of Business, Consumer Electronics, Samsung Bangladesh commented, “This is our latest step regarding the long-term efforts to support the global eSport scene that had started at the turn of the century. This involvement is a clear statement of our vision to help the local eSports scene to grow and eventually lead Southeast Asia’s gaming ecosystem.”

Furthermore, the ceremony was attended by Saad Bin Hasan; Head of Sales, Samsung Electronics Bangladesh; Khandaker Ashik Iqbal, Head of Marketing, Samsung Electronics Bangladesh; Mahbubul Akram, Product Manager, IT, Samsung Electronics Bangladesh and DR Mahady Hasan; Head of CSE, IUB and other high officials of Samsung Bangladesh and club volunteers from the respective universities. The participating universities were Independent University, Bangladesh, North South University, BRAC University, American International University Bangladesh, and University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh.
