5 Finalists of Unilever BizMaestros 2018 unveiled in Bangladesh

Teams Good for Nothing from FBS, DU, Zenith from BRAC, Last Second from BUP, We Got This from IBA, DU and One Last Time from BUP have emerged as the finalists of Unilever BizMaestros 2018 after battling out against the best in the country in three grueling rounds of the competition.

Unilever Bizmaestros is the flagship business competition of Unilever Bangladesh, a frontrunner among fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) organizations in the country. The 9th edition of the competition rolled out on 26th September 2018.

This year’s competition was constructed around the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan (USLP), UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Unilever’s purpose-driven brands, with the central theme being WASH (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene). For the first time ever, UNDP in Bangladesh has collaborated with Unilever Bangladesh as the knowledge partner for the competition.

The final challenge for BizMaestros 2018 pertains crafting a business model innovation that will address the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene issues in urban slums using combined solutions from Unilever products and brands to drive both business and sustainability value over the coming decade. They will present their solutions to a panel of 6 leading experts from the industry – Kedar Lele, CEO & Managing Director, Unilever Bangladesh, Mia Seppo, UN Resident Coordinator & UNDP Resident Representative in Bangladesh, Engr. Taqsem A. Khan, Managing Director & CEO, Dhaka WASA, Minhaj Chowdhury, CEO & Co-Founder of Drinkwell, Sonia Bashir Kabir,
Managing Director, Microsoft Bangladesh, Myanmar, Nepal, Bhutan & Laos and Asif Saleh, Senior Director of Strategy, Communications and Empowerment for BRAC and BRAC International.

The Grand Finale, which will be powered by Lever Ayush, is scheduled to be held on 1st November, where the most deserving team will win the coveted title. The winners will not only get to lift the BizMaestros Champions trophy but will also have the unique and prestigious responsibility of championing Bangladesh in the global business competition – Unilever Future Leaders League. Additionally, the winners will also get fast-tracked into the final round of Unilever’s Management Trainee Program – Unilever Future Leaders Program and will also work with Unilever to help execute their winning ideas.
