JCI Bangladesh organized “Be the Change: Redefining Stereotypes” in Dhaka

To inspire youth of Bangladesh, “JCI Bangladesh successfully organized “Be the Change: Redefining Stereotypes”- A One Day Symposium at Helmet Hall, Raowa Club, Mohakhali, Dhaka on 7th September 2018, Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM.

12 renowned speakers who are role models to many in Bangladesh and experts in their fields had shared their stories to inspire the young generation and create positive change in the society.

The speakers are Don Sumdany, CEO, Wikreate, Naveed Mahbub, Founder and CEO, Naveed’s Comedy Club, Danny Rahman, Founder President, PFDA, Afroza Parveen, Co Founder & Managing Director, Ujjwala, Nusrat Faria, Renowned Media Personality, Khijir Hayat Khan, Filmmaker and Creative Director, KHK Productions, Iftekhairul Islam, Assistant Superintendent of Police, DMP, Nazia Andaleeb Preema, Visual Artist and President WIL, Nazim Farhan Choudhury, Managing Director, ADCOMM, Nurun Nahar Begum, Senior Programme Officer, Action Aid Bangladesh, Zaiba Tahyya, Founder and CEO at FEM, Female Empowerment Movement, Mahmud Hossain, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Grameenphone Limited.

All the leaders shared their journey towards excellence. Their stories of walking extra miles, coming out from comfort zone and making the nation proud by their extra ordinary achievements and contributions in their fields inspired the youth. They also have shared how they have generated positive influence on the community and have established the application of creativity in solving problems and overcoming challenges. They also shared their experience on how they demonstrated their commitments to the highest ethical standards and provided services as a mentor and as a trusted advisor to many.

The chief guest of the program was Mr. Asaduzzaman Noor, current Minister of Cultural Affairs of the Government of Bangladesh. Around 700 audience from different sector of society were present. Besides the speaking, there was performance by special children of PFDA in this event. This was one of the most prominent and prestigious yearly programs of JCI Bangladesh. The convener of the program was Erfan Haque, National Vice President, JCI Bangladesh. Mr. Fayaz Atiqul Islam, National President, Irfan Islam, National EVP, Maruful Islam Jhalak, National SG, Sakib Ahmed, National Vice President,Sarah Kamal, National GLC, National Directors, Local Presidents and JCI members were also present at the program. The program’s silver sponsors were Atlas Copco, Bizz Solutions, Super Star Group, Chittagong Marine Dockyard and COL. Apart from that, many other organizations sponsored and partnered for this wonderful event.

RTV, RTV online, Colors FM, The Daily Samakal and ICE Business Times were the media partners for the event.
The event had lunch and raffle draw program and all the members’ presence made the program very glamorous and colorful.

Mentionable that, Junior Chamber International (JCI) is a worldwide organization of young professionals and leaders between the ages of 18 and 40. The organization is found in over 120 countries and has a membership of 200,000 across the world. Our work is to contribute to the advancement of the global community by providing the opportunity for young people to develop the leadership skills, social responsi¬bility, fellowship, and entrepreneurship necessary to create positive change.

As a part of JCI –an international voluntary organization, JCI Bangladesh is running its operation is Bangladesh with around 14 local chapters with member base of around 700 and the local chapters are functioning to serve the community, society and in national level.
