West Indies beat Bangladesh by an innings

West Indies beat Bangladesh by an innings and 219 runs on the third morning of the first Test at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua on Friday.

Discomfort against bouncers has been one reason touted for Bangladesh’s difficulties in the West Indies, but their batsmen didn’t just struggle against the short ball in Antigua – Kemar Roach and Shannon Gabriel used it only sparingly – but also pace and lateral movement.

Bangladesh Senior batsmen were dismissed in a similar manner in both innings, in the space of two days.

This game was Bangladesh’s second shortest in terms of balls faced. In the last 66 years, the 59 overs that Bangladesh faced were the least a side faced in being bowled out twice.
