Farhana Akter Jinia showcased her designed The Asian Designer Week (ADW) 2018

The Asian Designer Week (ADW) hosted the extremely anticipated & most eagerly awaited 6th season of Spring/Summer fashion fiesta recently, at Bikaner House, New Delhi April, 2018.

It was a three days event with almost 50 talented designers, a young and enthusiastic team and nearly 3000 distinguished guests participated. The designers from Afghanistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar, and Kazakhstan & Srilanka have showcased their talent.

In the second day Farhana Akter Jinia showcased her designed five dresses where her participation resembles how she represented her country through the cultural value and tradition of Bangladesh. She used environment-friendly and locally produced fabrics for her garments to keep in sustainable fashion.

The designs were the essence of local culture through Western outfit. The designs include a lot of traditional motif through Katha stitch, painting and handloom on the garments. The design was a blending of Western patterns with local fabrics of Bangladesh.


 
The designer was not a fashion designer. She used to be a researcher on the public health sector. She completed her graduation in Sociology from Dhaka University and has worked in NGOs and corporate sector for around 5 years. At the age of 31, she quit her long-duration job to pursue her Passion and dream on Fashion Design.

Farhana also pursuing a diploma on Fashion Design to polish her skills and body of knowledge on the sector. Also converted her living place into a studio and trying to become an entrepreneur.
