Swisscontact and MetLife Foundation’s project Sarathi sign agreement with Bank Asia in Bangladesh

A MoU was signed between Sarathi – Progress Through Financial Inclusion project of Swisscontact Bangladesh and Bank Asia Limited for Financial Inclusion of RMG workers. This project is funded by MetLife Foundation and implemented by Swisscontact.

Under this MOU, Sarathi will work with Bank Asia for RMG workers wage digitization through Alternate Channels, financial literacy campaigns, developing savings and loan products etc. for next two years.

Mr. Sarder Akhter Hamed, SEVP & Head of Channels and Mr. Kazi Mahfuz Mamtazur Rahman, Team Leader, Sarathi Project signed the MoU on behalf of their organizations recently at Bank Asia Office. Mr. Arfan Ali, President and Managing Director, Bank Asia; Mr. Ariful Islam Chowdhury, SEVP and Head of Retail Banking, Bank Asia; Ms. Rumana Akhter Tulee, FAVP, Bank Asia; Ms. Samina Yasmin, Senior Manager and Head of Communications, MetLife; Ms. Ishrat Fatema, Intervention Manager, Sarathi; Ms. Salma Akhter, Advocacy and Partnerships Coordinator, Sarathi were also present among others.
