Seminar to spread the message of Sufi spiritualism and liberal humanism

In the context of the emergence of extremism in the world today a joint initiative of the Asiatic Society Calcutta and Allama Rumi Society Bangladesh, an international discussion was organized on “Inter-religious harmony and Rumi of Bengal Syed Ahmadul Haq”.

Recently, on the occasion of this discussion cycle held in Calcutta, The first two volumes of his written work have unveiled to promote the contribution of the prominent Sufi saint and Rumi researcher Syed Ahmdul Haq’s Sufi ideology and also strengthening inter-religious harmony was discussed in detail in this occasion.

Mr. Parath Chattopadhyay, Honorable Minister of the School of Government of West Bengal and Higher Education and Parliamentary Affairs was the Chief Guest of this international discussion cycle. President of Asiatic Society Dhaka Professor Mahfuza Khanam and Fellow of Asiatic Society Dhaka Professor Abdul Momin Chowdhury attended the program as the special guest.

Dr. Satyabrata Chakraborty, General Secretary, The Asiatic Society Calcutta presented the welcome speech, Syed Rezaul Karim, Vice Chairman, Allama Rumi Society Bangladesh Talked about the topic of the discussion cycle, Chairman of the Asiatic Society Calcutta, Professor Isha Mohammed delivered the address speech. Syed Mahmudul Haque, one of the key advisers to the Allama Rumi Society Bangladesh also presented the speech in this discussion cycle.

The main attraction of the discussion cycle was the presentation of four important research projects on writings on the Sufi aspect of Syed Ahmadul Haq, the well-known Bengali writer. Speakers of the discussion stressed that future inter-religious harmony and new and innovative initiatives in our region to seek the world peace.
