Russia Football official shrugs at British government World Cup boycott

It does not matter if British officials boycott the FIFA Football World Cup, which will be hosted by Russia, Interfax news agency cited Russian Football Union Vice President Nikita Simonyan as saying on Wednesday.

“That’s their problem. What matters is whether the team comes, and it wants to come. The World Cup is once every four years,” Simonyan said.

Previously British Prime Minister Theresa May has announced No ministers or members of the Royal Family will go to World Cup finals in Russia this summer.

May made the announcement during Wednesday’s Prime Minister’s Questions, following the poisoning of former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in Salisbury last week.
