Police interrogate director, producer of short film ‘Boishommo’

The short film, recently uploaded to Youtube, portrays smoking by women in a negative light.

Police’s Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit members are interrogating the director and producer of misogynistic short film “Boishommo” (discrimination).

The duo was called in for quizzing on Wednesday after a number of women complained against the film.

The film’s director has been identified as Rahat and producer as Hayat.

CTTC Deputy Commissioner Md Alimuzzaman said: “We called the two men for interrogation following complaints by some women. We are working on the matter.”

An officer of the cybercrime unit has said they are trying to find out why the Rahat and Hayat made the short film and uploaded it to the internet.

Recently, “Boishommo” was uploaded to Youtube. It portrays smoking by women in a negative light. The subject matter of the short film give rise to a controversy on the social media.
