Skipper Mominul Haque hit a magnificent unbeaten ton as Islami Bank East one dominated the first day as they scored 340 for 5 at stumps against Prime Bank South Zone on the first day of the first round sixth Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) held on Tuesday at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan ground no-4 in Savar.
The 26-year left handed batsman Mominul played an impressive knock of 169 off 207 balls, an innings that studded with 18 boundaries and two over boundaries, following openers Imtiaz Hossain (33) and Liton Kumar’s (20) 47 runs opening stand, after East Zone opted to bat first.
Yasir Ali well made 33 runs off 42 balls while national discard Alok Kapali added 19 for East Zone.
Zakir Hossain was the other batsman to remain unbeaten with 47 runs as the bails were drawn for the day.
Saqlain Sajib and former national spinner Abdur Razzak shared two East Zone’s wickets giving away 64 and 108 runs respectively.
