Bangladesh Children Film Festival 2017 going to begin today

The four-day long “Bangladesh Children’s Film Festival-2017” will begin today (December 28th) at 64 districts simultaneously across the country.

“Bangladesh Children’s Film Festival-2017” is Organised by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy for the first time. The festival will screen 40 films in two categories-films made by child filmmakers and children’s films by adult filmmakers, said organisers at a press conference on Wednesday at the seminar room of the academy.

Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor will inaugurate the festival at National Chitrashala Auditorium arranged by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA).

BSA Chairman Mustafa Monowar, film organizer Munira Morshed Munni and Assistant Prof of Mass Communication and Journalism Department of Dhaka University Sabrina Sultana Chowdhury will present the programme. BSA Director General Liyakat Ali Lucky will preside over it.

The festival will also feature a workshop and a seminar which will be held at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

A seven-member jury committee will judge a total of 40 films.

Marking the festival, workshop titled ‘Film Understand’ to be held on December 29 and 30 and a seminar would be held on December 29 at 4 pm at National Chitrashala Auditorium, the release added.

In child filmmakers’ category the best film will receive Tk 50,000, best filmmaker will receive Tk 30,000 and special jury award-winning film will receive Tk 20,000.

In children’s films directed by adult filmmakers category the best film will receive Tk 1,00,000, best filmmaker will receive Tk 50,000 and special jury award-winning film will receive Tk 25,000.
