Malaysia reportedly detains Bangladeshi film director for human trafficking

Actor and model Nirob said the group is unsure about what transpired, but confirmed that Anonno was not with the group any longer.

Bangladeshi filmmaker and screenwriter Anonno Mamun has been arrested in Malaysia on charges of human trafficking.

He was allegedly trafficking people under the cover of a cultural program called Cinematic Bangladeshi Nights on December 23.

According to reports, a 48-member-team, including singers Asif Akbor, Akhi Alamgir, rock band Chirkutt, and actors Emon, Nirob, Shokh, Mishty, took part in the event in Kuala Lumpur.

Some of the participants were questioned by the police when they were on their way back. The questions led to police arresting Anonno from his hotel room on Sunday night.

Actor and model Nirob said the group is unsure about what transpired, but confirmed that Anonno was not with the group any longer.
