RTI act to contribute towards the reduction of corruption

The participants were divided into three groups and had exercised on how RTI support effective service delivery, How RTI act contribute towards reduction of corruption and Challenges of RTI implementation and Way Forward. Findings of group exercise were presented followed.

K4DM Project organized a workshop on Right to Information and Proactive Disclosure on 3 December at NEC Conference Room in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Mr. Jalal Ahmed, Additional Secretary, ERD and National Project Director of Knowledge for Development Management (K4DM) Project presided over the session and delivered opening remarks. A total of 35 officials from Economic Relations Division, Planning Division, IMED, and other Government agencies participated in the workshop.

Mr. Nepal Chandra Sarker, Information Commissioner, Information Commission and Dr. Abu Shahin M. Ashaduzzaman, Project Manager of K4DM Project jointly conducted the first session on RTI Act and Relevant Provisions and the second session was conducted by Mr. Md. Nazrul Islam, former Secretary and a member of National Human Rights Commission. In this session, he presented the tools and techniques of Proactive Disclosure of Information.
