GP signs MoU with NSU and BRACU to take IoT a step further in Bangladesh

The Internet of things (IoT) is the network of physical devices, vehicles, home appliances, and other items embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and network connectivity which enable these objects to connect and exchange data to enhance the users’ lifestyle.

Grameenphone, the leading communication and digital service provider in Bangladesh, has signed a MoU with North South University and BRAC University to take “Internet of Things” (IoT) a step further.

Under the framework of these MoUs, the faculty members and students of these universities will get the opportunity to become familiar with practical, global standard and up-to-date IoT endeavors being conducted by Grameenphone; which they can utilize for advanced learning and research.

The MoU was signed by Quazi Mohammad Shahed, Chief Human Resources Officer of Grameenphone, Dr. Arshad M Chowdhury; Dean, School of Engineering and Physical Sciences at North South University and Dr. Ansar Ahmed, Pro Vice-Chancellor of BRAC University.

Dr . Nova Ahmed and Dr. Mahdy Rahman Chowdhury from North South University and Dr. Md Abdul Mottalib and Dr. Hossain Arif from BRAC University were also present there.

From Grameenphone’s side, Mr. Yasir Azman, Deputy Chief Executive Officer; Mr. Mahmud Hossain, Chief Corporate Affairs  Officer and Mr. Rade Kovacevic, Chief Technology Officer were also present during the signing ceremony.
