The cabinet today rejoiced the UNESCO recognition of Bangabandhu’s historic 7th March speech and greeted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the UN body’s acknowledgment.

“The cabinet greeted the Prime Minister during the weekly meeting of the cabinet held at Prime Minister’s office here today over the UNESCO acknowledgment of the historic speech,” Cabinet Secretary M Shafiul Alam said.

UNESCO last week announced it decided to keep in its records of the International Memories of the World the Bangabandhu’s crucial 7th March, 1971 address.

The cabinet secretary said the cabinet also greeted Sheikh Hasina for US-based Forbes magazine’s selection as the 30th most powerful women of 2017.
