Krishibid Institution Bangladesh begins countrywide road shows to promote Agro Career Expo 2017

Krishibid Institution Bangladesh-KIB in collaboration with Swisscontact–Katalyst, considered as a pioneer Agro-based market systems development project in under the Ministry of Commerce, is going to conduct road shows in seven universities nationwide to promote a two-day long “Agro Career Expo” to be held in KIB on 29-30  November 2017. The career expo is for the students of these seven l universities in Bangladesh where over 150 employer firms will be participating.

The series of road shows began on 24 October from the Patuakhali Science and Technology University, Patuakhali and will end on 13 November at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University, Gazipur.

During the period, the road shows covered Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University on 26 October, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh on 29 October, will cover Sylhet Agricultural University on 31 October, and Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University, Dinajpur on 2 November, and Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka on 9 November.

The road shows are part of a broad initiative by KIB and Swisscontact-Katalyst to promote agro-based career and help the students of agricultural universities to develop their career through knowledge sharing and job placement in private sector organizations.

Following the Road Shows, an Agro Career Expo will be held at Krishibid Institution Bangladesh from 29-30 November 2017, with the students from seven universities. Students will be able to register for the Agro Career Expo at the booths, set up in their respective universities during the road shows.

The road shows will raise awareness among the university students about the importance of pursuing a career in agriculture, and inform them about the opportunities available in the agricultural sector. Students will receive orientation and training on developing their Resumes and methods to face interviews.
