Microsoft underscores commitment to supporting Digital Bangladesh vision

Ralph Haupter, President of Microsoft Asia and Corporate Vice President, Microsoft Inc. made a 1-day visit to Bangladesh on October 3. During the visit, Haupter met with several senior governments and private sector officials.

Haupter met with Fazle Kabir, Hon’ble Governor of Bangladesh Bank and AMA Muhith, Hon’ble Finance Minister in succession, to discuss the development of the financial services industry (FSI), and progress of ICT in Bangladesh.

Haupter also met with Tarana Halim, Hon’ble State Minister of the Post and Telecommunications Division to discuss various aspects of the digital transformation in Bangladesh and how Microsoft can be a partner in the process. Later, Haupter met with the board members of City Bank to share ideas about the importance of digital transformation in the banking and financial services Industry.

“Ralph’s visit to Bangladesh demonstrates Microsoft’s commitment to empowering every person and every business in Bangladesh with the tools and solutions to reap the benefits of the digital economy. We are working in close collaboration with public and private organizations to support the nation’s drive towards a Digital Bangladesh, and we are also ensuring that small-and-medium enterprises and startups are able to participate in the enormous opportunities across various industries,” said Sonia Bashir Kabir, Managing Director of Microsoft Bangladesh.

Ralph Haupter is one of the most senior executives at Microsoft Corporation and has been leading the Asia operations of the organization since July 2016.
