BCB rules out Stuart MacGill as spin bowling coach

Bangladesh Cricket Board President Najmul Hasan Papon ruled Stuart MacGill out of contention as the spin bowling coach of the national cricket team on Wednesday.

Talking to the press at the city hotel Papon disclosed that MacGill is out of the shortlist. “He is sick at the moment and said he would not be available for the job in the near future, so we have ruled him out of our short list, however Venkatpathy Raju and Sunil Joshi and a couple of names are in the list, we will complete the formalities within a few days” said the BCB president.

The BCB boss also revealed that the visiting Cricket Australia security officials have changed their stance regarding the venue of BKSP as a possible venue of the practice match.

“Earlier they ruled BKSP out as a venue, now they have agreed to inspect it, and they will visit the venue on August 19, we will decide the venue taking their opinion” said Papon.

The visiting Australians are scheduled to play the lone two day practice match on August 22. The first Test starts at Dhaka on August 27.
