Google celebrates ICC Champions Trophy with an addictive doodle game

News Hour:

Google Doodle has celebrated the start of the ICC Champions Trophy with a simple but highly addictive cricket game.

The internet giant kept it simple: all you have to do is tap or click to swing the bat and watch as you either smack the ball around the field or see the bails knocked off.

The game features a match between crickets and snails to celebrate the ICC Champions Trophy in England and Wales.

You can simply click your mouse to swing the bat and watch the snails scurry after the ball as your crickets make their runs.

The Google Doodle team used snails to illustrate the fact that the game can be enjoyed by users with the slowest internet connection.

They said: “We know that cricket is loved worldwide, so we wanted to make sure our Doodle works for everyone.

The Google Doodle has now been taken down in the UK, but you can still play the game on the Google Doodle archives.
