News Hour:

“My friends Chris (TED curator) and Juliet called me here to speak about the future you, and naturally I’m going to speak about the present me.”

In the 17-minute talk, SRK reflected on his youth, growing up in New Delhi, losing both his parents by the time he was in his twenties, and then, moving to the “sprawling metropolis of Mumbai”, to follow his dreams of becoming a movie star.

Shah Rukh then spoke about the impact the Internet has made on his life, specifically his decision in his late 40s to begin using Twitter. “Everything I said took a new meaning. Everything I did, good, bad, ugly, was there for the world to comment upon and judge.”

“I sell dreams, and I peddle love to millions of people,” says Shah Rukh Khan, Bollywood’s biggest star. In this charming, funny talk, Khan traces the arc of his life, showcases a few of his famous dance moves and shares hard-earned wisdom from a life spent in the spotlight.
