The Abinta Gallery of Fine Arts inaugurated exhibition titled “Loving Memory” in Dhaka

The Abinta Gallery of Fine Arts inaugurated an exhibition titled Loving Memory” on April 22nd, 2017 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The exhibition features the artwork of 60 renowned Bangladeshi artists.

A total number of around 80 artworks, themed around memories of Abinta Kabir, include works by 60 famous painters like RafiqunNabi, Samarjit Roy Chowdhury, Syed Jahangir, etc.

Mr. Azaduzzaman Noor, MP, Honourable Minister of Cultural Affairs of Bangladesh, attended the inauguration event as Chief Guest. Mr. Abul Khair Litu, Chairman, Bengal Group, was present as Special Guest.

Ruba Ahmed, the mother of Abinta Kabir, described the unique taste in arts of the talented Abinta and her enthusiasm in visiting art exhibitions. She especially mentioned appreciation by senior artists on Abinta’s taste in arts. She thanked all the participating artists for their time, love, and their effort to honor Abinta’s memory.

Mr. Asaduzzaman Noor, MP, Minister of Cultural Affairs, and Chief Guest at the event condemned the heinous activities of extremist terrorists in his speech and mentioned all good words he heard about the multi-talented Abinta, who had displayed great talent and vision during her short yet highly promising lifespan.

With the exhibition in mind, an art camp was organized with the artists on February 17 and 18, 2017, where the artists painted the artworks being displayed at the exhibition as their tribute to the memory of Abinta. The money earned from selling the artworks will be donated to schools, acid victim survivors, and others who are in need of help, which is in line with Abinta’s dream.

Starting Saturday, April 22, 2017, the exhibition will be open for the public every day except Monday from 10 am to 8 pm. The exhibition will continue till 22nd May 2017. Abinta Gallery of Fine Arts is located at AJ Heights, Cha 72/1/D, 2nd Floor, Pragati Sharani, North Badda, Dhaka-1212.
