Grameenphone and Telenor Health unveiled Bangladesh’s most comprehensive digital health offering Tonic Premium

News Hour:

Grameenphone and Telenor Health unveiled Tonic Premium, Bangladesh’s most comprehensive digital health offering.  From engaging content channels on everyday topics like weight loss and parenting to reserved daily slots with Bangladesh’s top doctors, to up to Tk 250,000 in cash for hospital costs, Tonic Premium covers every health and wellness need for the modern Bangladeshi family. Through the new Tonic App, Tonic Premium members save money, save time, and get access to the best – all for the cost of a coffee.

Whether it is welcoming a new child or caring for a parent’s health condition, our lives can change at any moment.  Tonic Premium ensures that members are prepared by combining cutting-edge technology, world-class medical quality, and partnerships with leading healthcare providers into a one-stop offering.

Instant appointment booking, one of the features being carried out in partnership with Doctorola Ltd. provides members the opportunity to book appointments with over 2,000 doctors through the Tonic App.

Members can also chat with doctors in the same format as popular messaging apps and receive thorough, tailored, confidential advice. Furthermore, Tonic Premium has daily reserved appointments with the 30 top doctors in the country, giving prioritized access when needed the most.

As medical expenses rise, people are burdened with more than they can pay. To relieve some of this burden, Premium offers 25,000 takas for hospital stay (three nights or more) up to 10 times a year, hassle-free and with no illnesses as exceptions. Premium members will also be eligible for up to 50% discount on executive health checks at Tonic’s premium partner hospitals and be allocated 90 minutes of free over-the-phone doctor consultations per month.

Since launching the first version of Tonic Free last year, 3 million people have subscribed to the free service. Over the course of this, Telenor Health has heard that people want a health care service that will relieve some of the financial burdens, provide easy access to doctors and high-quality advice.

‘After the great success of Tonic Basic, we are excited to bring the next generation of services to consumers. The new products offer unprecedented healthcare value to the users in Bangladesh market’, said CEO Sajid Rahman. ‘They are intended to fulfill the needs for those who want more from our digital health service’

Any GP subscriber can join Tonic Premium for the affordable cost of Tk 298 per month.  Consumers can also opt for Tonic Advanced, which provides a lower level of hospital cash coverage (Tk 100,000 annually) at a lower price point of Tk 128 per month.  And, as always, GP subscribers can join the basic Tonic offering and get Tk 4,000 in annual coverage for free.

Joining Tonic Premium or Tonic Advanced is easy – just *789#, download the Tonic Android app or visit www.mytonic.com and the friendly Tonic staff is able to help at any Grameenphone Center or by dialing 789.
