Arsenal Sack Long-serving Manager Arsène Wenger

News Hour:

Manager Arsène Wenger has been sacked by Arsenal Football Club, after a three nil loss to Crystal Palace.

The Gunners are seven point away from the top four with 8 matches left.

“The board reluctantly feels that a change of leadership, while admittedly painful, is necessary in the club’s greatest interest,” read a statement.

Wenger, 67, guided the Gunners to the Champions League every season since joining the club.

His departure comes less than 24 hours after a 3-0 defeat at Palace.

They have lost their past four league away matches for the first time under Wenger.
