Sesame Street addresses autism with new character

Autism is the fastest growing developmental disability in the US.

One in every 69 children are now identified as being on the “spectrum”.

The popular children’s television series Sesame Street is looking to remove the stigma attached to the disorder by introducing a new character to coincide with World Autism Day on Sunday.

Al Jazeera’s Gabriel Elizondo reports from New York.
