World Women’s Chess Championship begins

The World Women’s Chess Championship began today (Friday) in Iran’s capital Tehran.

WIM Shamima Akter Liza are participating in the event. She got the chance to participate in the World Women’s Chess Championship as Asian Zone 3.2 Women’s Champion for the year 2015.

A total of 64 selected women’s players from all over the world are participating in the Knockout system.

The games of the championship will start from tomorrow ( Saturday) with WIM Liza will play against GM Dronavalli Harika of India.

WIM Liza will play two games against GM Harika and she needs to beat GM Harika to qualify in the 2nd round.

Earlier, Liza left the city on Thursday evening by Oman Air to Tehran. Bangladesh Chess Federation provided all her expenditures including air tickets during her stay in Tehran.
