Roundtable on child-sensitive urban planning held in Bangladesh

Save the Children in collaboration with Bangladesh Institute of Planners (BUP) organized a roundtable on child-sensitive urban planning on December 28, 2016 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Professor Shamsul Alam, member (senior secretary), general economic division of the planning commission inaugurated the roundtable while Mahbuba Nasreen,  Professor and Coordinator, Centre for Disaster and Vulnerability Studies, the Department of Sociology, University of Dhaka presented keynote paper. Syed Matiul Ahsan, Senior Manager of Save the Children shared perspective of children while developing a plan.

Professor Shamsul Alam said that government provided children and young people priority while developing social security strategy and other key strategy papers. Mahmuda Sharmeen Benu, Additional Secretary of Ministry of Women and Children Affairs was present as special guest. Dr. A K M Abul Kalam, President of Bangladesh Institute of Planners (BUP) delivered vote of thanks at the end of discussion.
