Fierce bowling spells by the bowlers enabled Bangladesh women’s cricket team to record second successive victory in the ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup beating their Nepalese counterparts by a massive 92-run held on Tuesday at Asian Institute of Technology ground in Bangkok, reports BSS.
Chasing a winning target of 134 runs set by Bangladesh, Nepal found the chase stiff losing wickets in regular intervals and finally dismissed at paltry total of 41 in 17.3 overs.
Opener Sita Rana Magar (15) was the only Nepalese batsman who able to reach the double figure.
Spinner Fahim Khatun cause the major damage as she grabbed four wickets for Bangladesh conceding only eight runs from her quota four overs. She was well supported by Nahida Akter who picked up two wickets giving away only two runs.
Earlier, Bangladesh women’s cricket team, rode on opening 71-run stand, scored their highest total in the T20 format as they scored 133 for 4 in 20 overs, after opting to bat first.
Nigar Sultana contributed 39 while her partner Sanjida Islam supported with 35 from 40. Sangita Rai of Nepal sent back two Bangladeshi batters, and her teammates Rubina Chhetry and Sita Rana Magar took a wicket apiece.
Bangladesh will play their next match against Pakistan scheduled to be held tomorrow (Wednesday) at the same venue at 9 am.
Earlier, on Monday, Bangladesh got off to a winning start in the tournament beating host Thailand by 35 runs in their tournament opening match.
