Training program for Economics and Business journalists held in Bangladesh organized by SANEM

The second session of “SANEM Training Program for Economics and Business Journalists” was held on November 26, 2016 at SANEM Conference Room, Gulshan 2, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Dr. Selim Raihan, Professor, Department of Economics, University of Dhaka and Executive Director, SANEM and Dr. Sayema Haque Bidisha, Associate Professor, Department of Economics, University of Dhaka and Research Director, SANEM, conducted the training sessions. Economics and business journalists attended the training from different print and electronic media.

The main objective of the training program was to equip the participants with better understanding of economic and trade issues for more informed journalism and to facilitate the flow of relevant facts. The session focused on international trade, regional integration, SDG and poverty related issues.

On 5th November 2016, the first session of the training program was held covering the Bangladesh economy and labor market issues.

The workshop was wrapped up with the certificate giving ceremony. Journalists from electronic media, printing media of Bangladesh participated in the workshop.
