Square Hospitals wins grand finale of Nestle nutrition institute (NNI) Alokbortika

Square Hospitals Limited has won the Grand Finale of ‘NNI Alokbortika’, organized by Nestlé Nutrition Institute. yesterday( 1 October ) at 10 AM, the quiz contest’s Finale was held at BRAC CDM, Savar. A continuation to the success of last year, this year’s ‘NNI Alokbortika’ saw participation of 500 paramedics from 118 hospitals.

Zahid Maleque, Honorable State Minister of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare attended the event as Chief Guest, while Local MP Dr. Enamur Rahman was present as Special Guest. Dr. Farida Yasmin, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer of Savar, and other officials from Nestlé Bangladesh Limited also attended the event.

The first round of Alokbortika commenced last May with participation by 500 paramedics from 118 hospitals. In the second round held in August, 200 paramedics from 46 hospitals took part. 50 paramedics from 12 hospitals were selected for the final round. For the Grand Finale, 16   paramedics from 4 hospitals competed with each other to win the contest. In the grand finale, Khulna Shishu Hospital secured the second place, while Jameson Red Crescent Maternity Hospital, and Super Clinic, Savar won third and fourth place respectively.

This year’s Alokbortika was held in 64 districts of the country’s eight divisions. The aim of the competition is to enrich the knowledge of and enlighten the Health Care Professionals of the Nation. From among the participants, the best paramedic and best institute were selected as winners. The five-month long competition enabled participants to gain knowledge on Breast Milk Substitutes Act, benefits of breast milk, nutrition for mother and child, post-birth care and nutrition management for mother and child, and health and nutrition for children.

NNI Alokbortika has been organized under the NNI Educational Initiative. Notably, the initiative has already earned accolades from participants and concerned authorities.
