Working on recent inventions is the passion of a team of Brac University Bangladesh. One of the recent work of this team is Mars Rover. The word “Mars Rover” means a boat for Mars Planet which will flow through the Mars.
NASA has already sent a rover named Curiosity. Their thinking is if NASA can make this type of rover then why cannot they. So they decided to make a rover for Mars like Curiosity.
A group of five students named Niaz Sharif, Masnur Rahman, Abir Mohammad, Syed Kamruzzaman, Ali Ahsan formed a group. They went to Associate Professor Dr. Khalilur Rhaman of CSE Department. They discussed about the whole project with the professor. Dr. Khalil advised them about the development strategies and techniques.
Then they started recruiting few more students who were very eager to do this types of works. Intisar Hasnain, Johirul Islam, Sakiluzzaman, Fahimshariar got included in the team.
They were the students of EEE (Electrical & Electronic Engineering), CSE (Computer Science and Engineering) and ECE (Electronic & Communication Engineering).

Mongol Tori team made a prototype first. Another faculty of EEE department Supriyo Safqaut Ahmed also worked as their advisor. Then they sat with their advisor Dr. Khalilur Rhaman and Supriyo Safqaut and make a plan on how they would build.
After that they started working on September 12, 2015 in their Robotics research lab. After working six months, they finally made the Rover on March 18, 2016.
In the meantime, they got to know about a competition named ERC (European Rover Challenge). It is one of the most prestigious competition all over the world. Teams from renowned countries like USA, Canada, Poland, South Korea, Australia and others participate in this competition. Mongol Tori team applied for the competition.
Here, teams had to go through some tests, reports and working condition presentation. Team got selected after whole tests and got chance to perform their rover with those countries. The competition was about Mars Rover.
There they have to do certain tasks like astronauts assistant task, terrain traversing task, science task. So to compete, their rover has to be that much eligible. Team started preparing according to the task. Finally they made such a Rover which can do any tasks according to rules.
Mongol Tori, a team from Bangladesh will compete there is such a proud moment for Bangladesh because before there were no one who researches for space topics. It will be inspiring for the other students.
