San Antonio veteran groups partner with american association of nurse practitioners to support veterans access to health care

Nearly 5,000 Nurse Practitioners were gathering in San Antonio, Texas from June 21-26 to advance solutions that was ensure US veterans high-quality health care with reduced wait times in the veterans health system. The American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) National Conference was address a variety of important issues, including a plan to increase veterans’ direct access to nurse practitioner (NP) care. A recent proposal by the Veterans Administration (VA)  delivered crucial care to nearly two million veterans living in Texas who stand to benefit from approval of the proposed rule being detailed at the press event.

Speakers include Dr. Cindy Cooke, DNP, FNP-C, FAANP, President of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and Lieutenant Colonel Alicia Rossiter (retired) and Program Director of VCARE, University of South Florida.

Additional speakers include San Antonio American Legion members who utilize VA healthcare and who  called upon the VA to adopt the proposed rule strengthening veteran access to nurse practitioner-provided health care within the VA system.
