Japan to build world class children library in Bangladesh

Tadao Ando Architect and Associates, founded by Tadao Ando, will construct a children’s library in Dhaka.

This was revealed when a group lead by Tadao paid a visit to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Akasaka Palace in Tokyo.

M Nazrul Islam, the Prime Minister’s speechwriter, briefed the press following the meeting.

Prior to the call, Bangladesh National Museum (BNM) Director General Md Kamruzzaman and Tadao Ando Architect Associates signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the presence of the Prime Minister.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed to create a children’s library in Bangladesh with Japanese funding.

During the conversation, the Prime Minister stated that the current government has taken numerous initiatives, including the construction of museums across the country to preserve the genuine history of Bangladesh’s Liberation War and the glory of the war heroes.

She stated that her government has turned the residence of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman into a museum in order to preserve his contribution to the country’s liberation.

Tadao Ando lauded Bangladesh’s socioeconomic progress under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s strong leadership.

Among those present were Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen, his deputy Md Shahriar Alam, Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen, and PMO Secretary Mohammad Salahuddin.
