Bangabazar clothing market razed by devastating fire, leaves traders locals in distress

A massive fire has engulfed Bangabazar, one of the largest clothing markets in Dhaka, causing extensive damage and leaving traders and residents in distress. The market, which is constructed of tin and wood and features a complex labyrinthine structure, is home to countless clothes stores, and is a major economic hub in the country.

The fire has brought chaos and devastation to the area, and emergency services are currently working to control the flames and prevent further damage. A team of 47 fire service units are tirelessly battling to extinguish the raging fire at Bangabazar clothing market, situated next to the Fire Service headquarters, which erupted around 6:10 am on Tuesday.

The fire, which has engulfed the market’s labyrinthine structure of tin and wood, is causing severe damage and has created chaos among traders and residents.

Anwarul Islam Dolon, a Fire Service media department official, confirmed the incident and reported that the first unit of firefighters reached the scene within two minutes, and the 47 units are currently working to put out the fire. The cause of the fire is unknown, but the authorities are working to address the situation and provide support to the affected individuals.
