Tigers thrash England to clinch maiden T20 series

Mehidy Hasan Miraz put on an outstanding all-around performance as Bangladesh beat mighty England in a game by a score of four wickets today at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

Bangladesh took a commanding 6-0 lead after winning game two of the three-match series after winning game one by a margin of six runs.

In this style, Miraz recorded his career-high 4-12, and he later used a 16-ball-20 with willow to significantly contribute to the victory. The innings of Najmul Hossain Shanto, who guided Bangladesh through a trying time to stay unbeaten on 46, were equally important.

In the first game, he bowled a 30 ball-51 to help Bangladesh win by six wickets.

After Miraz’s cherry bowling wizardry reduced England to 117 in just 20 overs, Bangladesh reached 120-6 and successfully completed the goal with seven balls remaining.

Jofra Archer, a fast bowler, offered England a glimmer of hope by taking 3-13, but Shanto held the nerve flawlessly.

Within the first powerplay, Bangladesh lost both of its openers, Liton Das and Rony Talukdar, both for 9 in the pursuit of a modest goal, for just 27 runs.

After removing Miraz with a slower delivery, Archer ran 92 miles per hour to shake Afif Hossain’s leg.

As Bangladesh was left at 100-6 in the 18th over, Moeen Ali took Shakib Al Hasan’s wicket in between.

As the game came to an end, Shanto and Taskin Ahmed hit three boundaries off Chris Jordan’s first over, sending the crowded stadium into a frenzy. England had looked pumped up, sensing an unlikely win.

Taskin who struck the winning boundary was not out on 8.
