Actor Lisa Loring passes away at age 64.

The Addams Family sitcom’s original Wednesday Addams, Lisa Loring, who played her in the 1960s, has passed away. She passes away at age 64.

Laure Jacobson, a close friend of Loring’s, posted the sad news of her passing on Facebook on January 28. Lisa was taken off life support after having “a big stroke,” according to Laure. Since then, Loring’s daughter Vanessa Foumberg has confirmed her mother’s passing, telling Variety that her mother died “peacefully with both her daughters holding her hands.”

Jacobson’s Facebook post, as shared by Deadline, read, “It is with great sadness that I report the death of our friend, Lisa Loring. 4 Days ago she suffered a massive stroke brought on by smoking and high blood pressure. She had been on life support for 3 days. Yesterday, her family made the difficult decision to remove it and she passed last night.”

Laure’s post further continued, “She is embedded in the tapestry that is pop culture and in our hearts always as Wednesday Addams.

Lisa has left a lasting impression on the entertainment industry. She is beautiful, sweet, and a devoted mother. A richness of humor, love, and affection will live on in our minds as her family and friends’ legacy. Adieu, Lisa. Wow, girl… You were great fun.

The original Wednesday Addams in The New Yorker’s first live-action rendition of Charles Addams’ cartoons was played by Lisa Loring. Between 1964 and 1966, a total of 64 episodes of the show were broadcast. Following Jenna Ortega’s portrayal of the enduring character in the Netflix series Wednesday, Loring’s portrayal of Wednesday just made a comeback.

In 1977, Loring reprised her role as Wednesday in the movie, Halloween with the New Addams Family.
