Canada to donate air defense system to Ukraine

On Tuesday, Justin Trudeau, the prime minister of Canada, said that his nation would buy a US air defense system to give to Ukraine.

Anita Anand, Canada’s defense minister, estimated the cost of the US-made air defense system at $406 million Canadian ($302 million).

Following a private meeting in Mexico City between Trudeau and US Vice President Joe Biden, the news was made.

Anand stated that Canada is supplying Ukraine with the National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System (NASAMS) in order to fend off Russia’s heavy shelling of its vital infrastructure.

“Canada will continue to stand with the Ukrainian people as they fight against Russia’s illegal and unjustifiable invasion,” Anand tweeted.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky responded that Canada had “vividly proven” its support.

“Thank you for helping us to protect our sky. NASAMS procured for us by Canada will be a strong shield for our cities and citizens,” Zelensky tweeted.

The gift comes on top of what Canada has previously given to Ukraine to fend off the Russian invasion, including armored vehicles, artillery, ammunition, drone cameras, and winter apparel.

Kiev has received air defense systems from a number of foreign nations, including the United States, Norway, Spain, Germany, and France.

The NASAMS defense system has demonstrated outstanding effectiveness in fending off drone, missile, and airplane attacks.

    Very proud of my Canada.

We need to show them how two languages can exiat in one Parliament. We’ve done it forever, and it works very well. N’est-ce pas, eh? That may satisfy all concerned; and we can stop all this senseless slaughter and destruction.

Perhaps we should offer to provide the communications technology to make it happen, like we have evolved here in Canada – similar to the UN implementation. Make it easy, and it will happen.

But then maybe this is not the real reason for all this nonsense. Of course we could have just moved the Russian-speakers into homes in Russia, very likely for less expense than all these missiles, drones, and munitions.

Uniquely, our Justin Trudeau has the answers to this situation. Canada has solved the problem long long ago. Like his father, Justin can step out of the mold, and save the world right now. Good luck.
