For the first time ever, the price of gold surpasses Tk 90,000

With effect from Sunday, the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) raised the price of gold by Tk 1,575 to Tk 2,333 per bhori.

According to the most recent price, 22-karat gold will be sold for the first time in the nation at a record-breaking Tk 90,746 per bhori, while 21-karat gold will be sold for Tk 86,605 per bhori and 18-karat gold for Tk 74,241, according to a press statement issued by BAJUS on Saturday.

The statement further stated that the cost of traditional gold has been established at Tk 61,878 per bhori.

Leaders of BAJUS said that a rise in the cost of pure gold on the local bullion market was to blame for the rise in the price of gold.
