Microsoft and Netflix to Work Together on New Ad-Supported Subscription Plan

In addition to its current ads-free basic, standard, and premium subscription plans, Netflix said in April that it will be launching a new, lower-cost ad-supported subscription option for customers. They announced yesterday (July 14) that Microsoft has been chosen as our official global advertising technology and sales partner.

As Microsoft and Netflix collaborate to create a new ad-supported service, Microsoft has demonstrated its capacity to accommodate advertising requirements. More crucially, Microsoft provided Netflix subscribers with robust privacy protections and the freedom to evolve over time on both the technological and sales sides.

“It’s very early days and we have much to work through. But our long-term goal is clear. More choice for consumers and a premium, better-than-linear TV brand experience for advertisers. We’re excited to work with Microsoft as we bring this new service to life,” Here is what Mikhail Parakhin, President of Web Experiences, Microsoft said today.
