India to start vaccinating children aged 12-14 years Wednesday

India’s health secretary, Rajesh Bhushan, has written to all state chief secretaries that vaccinations for youngsters aged 12 to 14 years will begin on March 16th.

Bhushan stated that only the Corbevax vaccine would be utilized for those in the age groups of 12-13 and 13-14 years.

According to Bhushan, Corbevax has been added as the third vaccine against Covid-19 and will be provided at all locations where free immunization is available.

While the cautionary dose can now be given to people aged 60 and up, Bhushan indicated that prioritizing and sequencing of this dose will be based on the completion of nine months after the second dose.

According to Bhushan, the prophylactic dosage should be given with the same vaccine as was used for the primary vaccination.
