Ted Cruz slams Big Bird for ‘propaganda’ on vaccines

Sesame Street has been encouraging children to get vaccinated for decades, dating back to when Sen. Ted Cruz was just two years old.

Nonetheless, the Texas Republican has slammed Big Bird for marketing the COVID-19 vaccine for children, calling it “government propaganda…for your 5-year-old!” after the canary-like 8-foot 2-inch Muppet declared he’d gotten the jab on Saturday.

Cruz’s allegation has enraged liberals, who are eager to smear him.

Since the FDA authorized the Pfizer/BioNTech formulation for youngsters ages 5 to 11 last week, the Muppets have been advertising COVID-19 shots. For decades, they’ve been advocating immunizations in general.

Big Bird, Elmo, and Oscar the Grouch were part of a community outreach effort that featured a CNN town hall on Saturday morning — the Muppets’ sixth such program since the outbreak began. “I got the COVID-19 immunization today!” Big Bird tweeted thereafter. My wing is a little uncomfortable, but it will provide an extra defensive boost to my body, which will keep myself and others healthy.”

Big Bird not only squawks, but he also tweets to his 247,000 followers. He’s even got a blue check mark to prove it’s him.

Cruz has 4.6 million Twitter followers and political ambitions that include a seat at the Oval Office’s Resolute Desk.
