Nepal is relaunching Visa on Arrival service, but under conditions

The Nepalese government plans to reintroduce the ‘Visa on Arrival’ program for tourists. Due to the Corona pandemic, the government has suspended tourist services since March of last year.

According to Nepal’s national daily The Himalayan, the Nepali government passed the Infectious Diseases Control Act-2020 last year, which made it illegal for foreigners to enter Nepal without having received both doses of the vaccination. According to them, the country’s government enforced a ban on visitors who had not been vaccinated in order to avert the outbreak.

Both doses of the vaccine must be given at least 14 days before the journey to Nepal, according to the law, and vaccination documents must be presented at the airport.

Tourists will be able to undertake trekking and mountaineering with an on-arrival visa if they can properly produce their immunization paperwork at the airport, according to the Nepalese government.
