Bangladesh will be branded at the 2020 Dubai Expo

The “Dubai Expo-2020,” one of the world’s largest expos, will open on October 1 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with participation from a variety of countries, international organizations, and businesses.

The six-month exhibition will be open until March 31, 2022.

“Connecting Minds, Creating the Future” is the theme of the Dubai Expo-2020, while “Opportunity, Mobility, and Sustainability” are the three sub-themes.

Apart from growing export and investment, the government has taken the initiative to center the exposition on the country’s socio-economic growth and culture.

On special days, special programs will be organized at the Bangladesh pavilion of the Exposition to commemorate the centenary of the birth of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, as well as side-by-side meetings and seminars on Bangabandhu and the Liberation War.

Apart from showcasing local items, Commerce Secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh told BSS that, unlike past expositions, Expo 2020 offers Bangladesh a big opportunity to highlight its total history, tradition, and varied achievements in front of the entire world. “We’re making the necessary preparations.”

He also stated that preparations have been made to project Bangladesh’s long-term development in many socio-economic spheres.

Despite the fact that the Dubai Expo-2020 was scheduled to take place last year, it was canceled owing to the COVID-19 epidemic. The organizers anticipated a total of 25 million tourists to attend the Expo, which featured 200 pavilions representing 192 countries.

Meanwhile, at the Dubai Expo-2020, a display center with digital expositions, offices, conference rooms, and B to B meeting halls has been put up at the two-story Bangladesh Pavilion with an area of 436 square meters.

“Indomitable Bangladesh: Towards Sustainable Development” is the title of the Bangladesh Pavilion’s show.
