Bangladeshi descent Zidan Miah confirms Vallecano deal

After impressing the Vallecano management after a two-month trial for Madrid Resident Academy, Zidan Miah became the first footballer of Bangladesh descent to join a La Liga club.

Zidan Miah, a Bangladeshi footballer, confirmed his signing with Spanish top-flight team Rayo Vallecano on social media on Saturday, before thanking Bangladesh fans for their unwavering support throughout the years.

After impressing the Vallecano management after a two-month trial for Madrid Resident Academy, Zidan Miah became the first footballer of Bangladesh descent to join a La Liga club.

According to Zidan Miah, a Moulvibazar native who grew up in London, “I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve signed a contract with Rayo Vallecano for the 2021/2022 season. I’d like to express my gratitude to the club for providing me with this opportunity and for believing in me. Thank you so much to all of my coaches and mentors, both current and past, for all of your help, time, and love.

“I’d also like to express my gratitude to my family for all they’ve given over the years; without them, I wouldn’t be where or who I am now.
