Users in Bangladesh can now register for Covid vaccines through imo

In Bangladesh, eligible individuals may now register for the Covid-19 vaccination using the popular instant messaging app imo.

According to a news statement issued by imo on Wednesday, the online messaging platform’s initiative is intended to magnify the Bangladesh government’s mass immunization efforts.

This new feature’s primary purpose is to make the vaccination registration procedure in Bangladesh more accessible and smooth.

Vaccine seekers will be led to the Surokkha website for appointments, where they will be able to pick their preferred hospitals for vaccination.

According to the press release, those who complete the online registration process will get an SMS from the appropriate authorities with a suitable time and day for their vaccination injections.

The newly additional option, dubbed “Covid-19 Vaccine Appointment,” will be found under the “explore” button in the imo app.

Users will be taken through a step-by-step explanation of the vaccination registration procedure when they click on it, according to the announcement.

In Bangladesh, more than 7.2 million individuals have signed up to be vaccinated. This statistic represents a very small proportion of the overall population to be immunized.
