The announcement on Friday (May 27th) comes at a time when the European director of the World Health Organization says the epidemic will not end unless at least 60 percent of the population is vaccinated.

The European Union has already approved corona vaccines for people 18 and older.

The EMA says vaccinating children aged 12-15 will outweigh the risks. Especially those children who are at risk of severe coronary heart disease.

Marco Cavalli, head of the EMA’s Biological Health Threats and Vaccines Strategy, said it was time to decide when or where children and adolescents would be vaccinated against corona in the future. Or children who are at serious risk of coronary heart disease, whether to limit the distribution of vaccines to them, will have to decide now.

Earlier, Germany said it was considering a plan to vaccinate children over the age of 12.
