A Grand Inauguration of Faculty and Student Exchange Program between Eminence Bangladesh and Kristiania University College, Norway was held on 14 December 2020 through zoom from 09:00 PM to 10:00 PM (BD Time).
Eminence Bangladesh has recently signed an MoU with Kristiania University College, Norway for the faculty and student exchange program. The general objective is to establish a faculty and student exchange arrangement, subsequently using this as a basis for further cooperation within all areas of interest, including program development, joint research projects.
Both institutions shall agree to receive Masters students (2nd Cycle) for a three-month practicum during the autumn semester and faculty members for academic visits throughout the academic year. The number of exchanges each semester shall be according to written consent between the institutions. Both institutions commit themselves to conclude all necessary agreements with one another to comply with obligations under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 (the General Data Protection Regulation/GDPR) before transferring personal data.

Aminul Haque Bhuyan, Vice-Chancellor (Acting) Z.H. Sikder University of Science and Technology; Espen Rikter-Svendsen, Norwegian Ambassador in Bangladesh; Prof. Trine J. Meza, Pro-Rector of Research and Artistic Development Kristiania University College, Norway; Prof. Adnan Kisa, Associate Dean of Research, School of Health Sciences Kristiania University College, Norway; Axel Eikner, Department of Research Administration and Internationalization, Kristiania University College, Norway attended the program as honorary guests. The program was moderated by Dr Shamim Talukder, Chief Executive Officer of Eminence Bangladesh.
As a chief guest in the program, Md. Abdul Mannan, Secretary of Health Service Division said,“I would like to thank Mr. Ambassador for supporting this initiative. It has opened many doors of friendship, partnership and mutual development of both the countries. I am sure, our honorable Prime Minister would be very happy by knowing this new bridge between the two countries. As you all know that Bangladesh is celebrating a proud moment of completing the work of long-awaited Padma Bridge. And now this bridge and friendship between the two countries add a new source of celebration for us.”
Prof. Dr. Shah Monir Hossain, former Director-General, Directorate General of Health Services said, “The development of a quality educational system largely lies on the committed members of the faculty, quality infrastructure, supportive administration, large pool of learning, resources and last but not the least hardworking and brilliant students. Eminence and Kristiania University College meeting all these criteria, it will be a great platform for the Bangladeshi students to gain knowledge and experience from the international platform. Also, the Norwegian students who will come to Bangladesh can explore a different perspective of life and a chance to work for humanity.
Prof. Dr. Major Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, Vice-Chancellor of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) also an advisor of Eminence said, “Eminence’s partnership with Kristiania University College will benefit the university students in Bangladesh as well as Eminence and its partner institutions. This partnership will create a lot of opportunities for research and education in both countries.” Espen Rikter-Svendsen, Norwegian Ambassador to Bangladesh said,“With the agreement signed, it is time for both Eminence Bangladesh and Kristiania University College to know each other and to look into how best to develop and shape the partnership. This agreement signals the strong will of the two institutions to make a difference in the higher health education and support that is increasingly important for Bangladesh.”
The lead of the partnership, Prof. Trine J. Meza, Pro-Rector of Research and Artistic Development, Kristiania University College (Norway) said, “We believe that international sessions are very important for quality education and we are happy because through this MoU our students have that possibilities to go to Bangladesh and your students to come to Norway. We are also looking very forward to develop various research projects and by doing so we are also looking for opportunities to develop good quality research that will benefit the people of both Bangladesh and Norway.”
