38 expatriate Bangladeshis have been selected as CIP

In recognition of their significant contribution to the economy of Bangladesh, the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment has selected 38 expatriate Bangladeshis as Commercially Important Persons (CIP-NRB).

This award is given in three categories every year. The categories are Non-resident Bangladeshis who directly invest in the industry in Bangladesh, Non-resident Bangladeshis who send most foreign currency through legal channels in Bangladesh, and Non-resident Bangladeshis who import Bangladeshi products abroad.

In CIP-NRB Honors-2018, 1 person selected as CIP in the category of the non-resident direct investor in the industry in Bangladesh, 30 people selected in the category of non-resident Bangladeshi sending the most foreign currency through legal channels in Bangladesh, 7 people in the category of non-resident Bangladeshi importer of Bangladeshi products abroad. These 38 people have been awarded this status.

CIPs will be awarded honors and selected CIPs in celebration of International Migrants Day 2020.

Elected CIPs (NRBs) will be entitled to various facilities provided by the government as per the CIP Election Policy.
