The US will distribute 6.4 million vaccines in the first phase

The United States plans to distribute 6.4 million doses of the Pfizer and Biotech Covid-19 vaccine in the first week. The plan was announced after an application for permission to use it on an emergency basis to combat the spread of the coronavirus. It is expected that the use of these vaccines will be allowed next month, reports AFP.

The US Food and Drug Administration is set to meet on December 10 to decide whether to give the green light to the vaccine. Meanwhile, the number of new coronavirus cases and deaths in the country is increasing again.

The latest figures from Tuesday show that a total of 259,600 people have died and 12.5 million have been infected with the virus since the outbreak of Covid-19 in the United States.

In the last 24 hours, more than 2,000 people have died of the new coronavirus in the United States, and more than 178,000 have been infected, according to statistics.

General Gustav Parna, the government’s chief operating officer for Operation Warp Speed, told reporters that about 40 million doses of the vaccine would be available by the end of December.

This number includes other vaccines invented by Mordana and the National Institutes of Health. They announced the initial efficacy results of the vaccine last week and are nearing emergency approval.
