30 million doses of corona vaccine are being brought from India

Bangladesh is bringing 30 million doses of the corona vaccine from India. To this end, a tripartite agreement has been signed between the Serum Institute of India Private Limited, Beximco Pharma and the Ministry of Health. As a result, the Oxford vaccine is coming to Bangladesh through India.

A memorandum of understanding was signed at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Thursday. The agreement was signed by three officials from the government’s health care department, Seram Institute, and Beximco.

Besides Health Minister Jahed Malek, Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka Vikram Kumar Doraiswamy and Managing Director of Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited Nazmul Hasan were also present.

Health Minister Jahed Malek said 5 million doses would be available every month. Initially, the vaccine will be given to 1.5 crore people in two doses. Bangladesh will get this vaccine quickly and at low cost.

The Oxford vaccine has been shown to be safe in the third phase trial. Beximco will arrange to bring it. The vaccine has been approved by the Serum Institute of India. The main producer is Astrojeneca in the United Kingdom.

Zahid Malek further said that this vaccine will be purchased from the government of Bangladesh. Including the cost of delivery will cost 5 US dollars per dose.
