Japanese companies are interested in investing in Bangladesh

Japanese companies are interested in investing in Bangladesh. Every year 50 companies can invest in Bangladesh. But there are still some problems in Bangladesh in terms of investment. Despite extensive infrastructural development, many limitations remain. Investors want a more investment-friendly environment.

There are many tax-related issues, which, if reformed quickly, will make Bangladesh a very attractive place to invest for other foreign investors, including Japan. In order to make use of the potential created in Bangladesh, these obstacles need to be addressed quickly.

Yuugi Ando, Country Representative of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), said this while visiting the office of Economic Reporters Forum (ERF) at Paltan Tower.

The resident head of JETRO said that 70 percent of the Japanese companies doing business in Bangladesh are interested in expanding their business. He mentioned that it is the highest among the countries in Asia.

He believes that ERF and JETRO can work together to improve the investment environment in Bangladesh. He hoped that the ERF would play a role in shaping public opinion to enhance the friendly relations between the two countries.
